What needed to change
The client had three hardware shops in Kigali, and each branch needed to be managed clearly. When a business has many branches, it becomes hard for the owner to know what is happening in each shop. Sales can happen in one branch. Stock can move in another branch. Staff can receive money. Customers can buy on credit. Suppliers can bring bills. Expenses can happen every day. Without a strong system, the owner may struggle to know which branch sold what, which staff member handled the sale, which customer still owes money, which supplier needs to be paid, how much money entered the business, how much money left the business, which products moved between branches, and which expenses were recorded. For a hardware business, this is a serious problem because stock, money, staff work, customer credit, and supplier payments must be tracked carefully.
